With lockdown restrictions expected to be lifted by the beginning of summer, tourism brands are preparing for a busy season ahead. But where to start? Marketing and branding your tourism brand should be at the top of your list right now to ensure your brand stands out from the crowd and appeals to your target audience. As an experienced creative marketing agency, CuCo has successfully worked with a number of tourism brands on some pretty exciting projects. So to give you some inspiration, here are some of our favourite tourism marketing projects we’ve worked on over the years:
Nickelodeon Adventure Lakeside
CuCo were appointed by the global entertainment brand Nickelodeon to help launch its first UK-based indoor family attraction, Nickelodeon Lakeside Adventure, back in 2019. Our creative team designed and developed a range of marketing and advertising materials for both on and offline platforms (including some exciting video content!) to attract audiences, increase engagement and create excitement ahead of the highly anticipated launch. Nickelodeon Lakeside Adventure’s launch was a huge success, and CuCo continues to deliver creative advertising creative for one of the UK’s largest indoor attractions.
One of our favourites, Save Our Sharks was a campaign launched during Shark Weeks! The global tourist attraction SeaLife appointed CuCo to design a memorable campaign to raise awareness about saving sharks from possible extinction. Once we had delivered a striking identity for the marketing campaign, our creative team would then go on to design all promotional items for the campaign, including the adverts, posters, external banners, web banners and HTML e-newsletters. Needless to say, we really got our teeth into the project and ended up with a fin-tastic campaign to raise awareness of the issue and help save the sharks.
The Dungeons are a group of world-renowned tourist attractions, offering visitors an ultimate, interactive journey through a thousand years of murky history that is far from your typical museum experience! The Dungeons approached CuCo to create a branded Halloween campaign that would drive footfall at a pivotal time in their marketing calendar, so a unique ‘Home of Halloween’ brand identity was born. The new brand was then rolled out as a campaign across The Dungeons international advertising channels both on and offline, including digital platforms such as HTML emails, social network channels and PPC website banners. CuCo’s campaign helped The Dungeons’ marketing team achieve record footfall figures for the Halloween period compared to the previous year. We would go on to be trusted with various other campaigns for the global attraction.
Arts by the Sea Festival
The annual Bournemouth Arts By The Sea Festival is a collaboration between Bournemouth Borough Council and Arts Council England. The exciting and unique festival celebrates arts across many forms, including music, dance, high-impact outdoor spectaculars, mass participation activities, illuminated installations and more! In 2017, CuCo was chosen as the creative agency to develop the festival’s creative vision around the theme “Plastic Beach”. Arts By The Sea Festival would be themed around a beautiful bespoke illustration; the overall look would use waves and a soft round, pebble-edged framing as part of the brand design. The campaign design was rolled out across various forms of marketing and communications materials, from advertising, posters, leaflets, survey cards, email invites and of course, a stunning 40-page programme. To further support the ‘Plastic Beach’ theme, CuCo sourced one the most environmentally-friendly print processes available, using FSC Accredited uncoated paper and printing with vegetable-based inks. The Team at Bournemouth Tourism were absolutely delighted with what CuCo had produced, describing our work as ‘marvellous’ and highlighting the dramatic increase in footfall for the event compared to the previous year.
