Over the past few years, Dorset has become a culinary hot spot, with tasty and authentic food and drinks brand emerging regularly and appearing on retailers shelves across the county.

As Dorset Branding and Packaging Agency, that has worked with many leading Dorset brands  including, The Dorset Meat Company, Dorset Sea Salt Co., English Oak Vineyard, Pure Diet and Öskuhús – here we wanted to share our thoughts on our favourite Dorset food brands.

#1 Dorset Meat Company

The Dorset Meat Company (DMC) is a local online meat retailer selling sustainable, locally produced meat from small, independent farms across Dorset and Wiltshire.

CuCo recently designed and built their fresh, new website and branding giving DMC an authentic, and contemporary look. The sophisticated new branding, combined with the rustic photography and the clean website design clearly demonstrates the high quality and local personality of The DMC products. Since the launch of the new website, the company’s online sales have increased by an incredible 92%.

It’s always nice ‘meat’ (and exceed) our client’s expectations.

#2 Dorset Cereals

Dorset Cereals is one of many well-known Dorset food brands. Founded in 1989, the successful Poole-based cereal manufacturer oozes creative, colourful illustrations mixed with a clean, elegant design which clearly defines the brand’s premium image, making it stand out on the shelves. Dorset Cereals retails in leading UK stores such as Tesco, Sainsbury and Waitrose, as well as to over 70 countries worldwide.

#3 Dorset Sea Salt

When Dorset Sea Salt Co. first approached CuCo in 2018, the company was looking for an agency to create a fresh, new look for the brand in order to make the brand stand out on the shelves. Since then, CuCo re-designed the brand’s logo, packaging and website and created a distinctive and sophisticated palette for the local salt maker, whose tasty products are now being stocked in major high-end stores, including Selfridges.

#4 Primrose’s Kitchen

In addition to Dorset Cereal, local brand Primrose’s Kitchen also create a range of locally sourced, environmentally conscious, organic and natural cereals. The brands fun and authentic packaging, which features beautiful illustrations of the ingredients, clearly communicates the sustainable and natural values of the brand – and we’re big fans!

#5 The Cherry Tree

The Cherry Tree produce a range of premium Chutneys, Preserves and Marmalades in exciting flavours such as Sweet Cider Chutney. Strawberry & Champagne Jam, Pina Colada Curd and Honey & Ale Mustard. The simple, yet sophisticated design and the gold foiling on the packaging communicates the high-end image of the brand extremely well. A lovely piece of design.
